<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><a href="https://uk.aluk.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">AluK</a> has officially joined the Council for Aluminium in Building’s (CAB) closed loop recycling scheme, strengthening the industry’s drive to embed sustainable practices across the aluminium supply chain.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Managing director Russell Yates and health &amp; safety manager Sophie Bragg accepted the membership certificate from CAB chief executive Nigel Headford. Yates emphasized aluminium’s 100% recyclability, highlighting its growing importance as specifiers increasingly focus on embodied carbon in construction. He noted that the scheme provides a timely, collective response to future sustainability demands.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Bragg stressed that the initiative is not only about increasing the amount of recycled aluminium, but also its quality. By separating alloys, such as the 6-series used in window and door extrusions, the scheme ensures that extrusions are recycled back into extrusions, maximizing efficiency.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As CAB president, Yates urged wider participation, encouraging fabricators and installers to join and help shape a true cradle-to-cradle aluminium economy.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The construction industry is on the brink of a material revolution. Engineers have developed a breakthrough material known as <em><strong>Superwood</strong></em>, an engineered wood that could rival and even surpass steel in performance, while dramatically cutting environmental impact.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Created through a process of chemical treatment and compression, Superwood is <strong>ten times stronger by weight than steel, yet six times lighter</strong>. Its unique structure makes it not only exceptionally durable but also resistant to fire, water, pests, and rot, issues that have traditionally limited wood’s role in large-scale construction.</p>

<p>The VPFlowScope M is a versatile 4-in-1 insertion flow meter designed for compressed air and technical gases. It simultaneously measures bi-directional flow, pressure, temperature, and total flow.
