Skyline Glass has fabricated a floor-to-ceiling donor recognition feature wall for the Irma and Norman Braman Comprehensive Cancer Center in Miami Beach, Florida, designed by CannonDesign. Positioned in the lobby, the installation combines donor recognition and wayfinding with a decorative glass treatment inspired by the colors and atmosphere of the Biscayne Bay waterfront setting.
The feature wall was manufactured at Skyline’s Chicago facility using four integrated glass processes: a color-matched digital gradient, eco-etch patterning, back-painting and laminated construction. The digital gradient establishes the project’s custom color palette, while the eco-etched pattern, selected from Skyline’s design library, adds texture and visual depth to the glass surface.
Back-painting provides the opacity required for the wall-cladding application, while lamination protects the decorative layers and improves durability for the high-use healthcare environment. Coordinating all four processes within a single fabrication workflow allowed Skyline to produce a consistent, layered architectural surface without separating the decorative treatments between different fabrication systems.
Skyline fabricated the feature wall as a complete glass system and installed the panels using its Vector Glass System, integrating the hanging solution with the decorative panels. The project demonstrates how digital printing, etching, painting and lamination can be combined to produce customized architectural glass that serves both an aesthetic and functional role within a contemporary healthcare interior.
