Düsseldorf, Germany – June 13/14, 2024 – The glass industry’s leading trade fair, glasstec, hosted an exclusive networking event, glasstec Preview, on June 13 and 14, 2024. The event brought together 19 exhibitors and 24 journalists from around the world, providing a valuable platform for making contacts, exchanging news, and discussing the future of the glass industry.

The primary objective of the glasstec Preview was to enable exhibitors to introduce their innovations, new products, and services to trade journalists prior to the main glasstec trade fair, scheduled for October 22-25, 2024. According to glasstec Director Lars Wismer, “By organizing glasstec Preview, we want to create extra added value as the world-leading trade fair. Here, class rather than mass counts for us. We deemed it important to create a setting where real, face-to-face conversations are possible, because there is mostly very little time for this in this fast-paced world.”

The two-day event kicked off with an evening get-together at the legendary “Otto’s Skybar” rooftop bar in Düsseldorf’s Lindner Hotel, providing attendees with a relaxed setting to network and socialize. On June 14, the participants convened at the new, modern conference rooms of Messe Düsseldorf for a structured networking program.

The program was divided into two talk sessions, allowing for an intensive exchange between journalists and exhibitors. In Talk-Session #1, journalists were invited to visit the companies they wanted to engage with, while in Talk-Session #2, the journalists sat at the tables, and company representatives selected the media representatives they wished to reach out to.

The glasstec Preview received overwhelmingly positive feedback from all three stakeholders – exhibitors, journalists, and the organizers. The event offered journalists the opportunity to engage in an in-depth exchange with relevant players in the industry, both in person and in one convenient location. Exhibitors also expressed excitement about the event, appreciating the valuable time it provided for meaningful conversations and the potential to boost media exposure ahead of the main trade fair.

“The glasstec Preview was a resounding success,” said Wismer. “By creating this exclusive setting, we were able to facilitate meaningful connections and discussions that might not have been possible during the hectic schedule of the main trade fair. This event is a testament to our commitment to providing added value and enhancing the overall glasstec experience for our exhibitors and media partners.”

As the glass industry eagerly anticipates the upcoming glasstec trade fair, the glasstec Preview has undoubtedly set the stage for a productive and engaging event, fostering deeper connections and a heightened sense of excitement within the industry.
