Alupro’s 2025 Impact Report highlights a year of significant progress for the UK aluminium packaging industry, with its public affairs work delivering £8.1 million in Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) cost savings across the supply chain.
The report shows that 150,684 tonnes of aluminium packaging were collected for recycling in 2025, helping to save 1.3 million tonnes of carbon emissions through the use of recycled aluminium in new products. Consumer engagement remained a key driver, with the Every Can Counts campaign encouraging 12.5 million people to recycle beverage cans and recovering more than 70,000 cans across 15 festivals.
Alupro also expanded its MetalMatters and Foil in Love with Recycling campaigns, reaching over 462,000 households, while education programmes engaged 43,000 students and attracted 180,000 website visitors. Working with 69 local authorities, the organisation also supported the UK Aerosol Recycling Initiative, contributing to a 24% increase in national kerbside aerosol capture rates.
