Albanian architecture took centre stage at the 7th Balkan Architectural Biennale (BAB25), held from 12–20 November 2025 at the Belgrade City Museum Salon in Serbia. This year’s edition, themed “New Bauhaus on Balkans,” highlighted innovation, sustainability and regional cultural identity, areas where Albania stood out with a strong, coordinated presence.
Serving as co-host of the BAB25 Exhibition, Albania strengthened its role within the regional architectural network and showcased the progress of its contemporary architectural scene. A total of 60 projects from 30 Albanian studios and architects were presented in the Main Exhibition, illustrating the country’s growing creative diversity and design maturity. The national participation was supported by ALUMIL ALBANIA, sponsor of the Albanian contribution.
Participating studios included: ABGA Studio, ANDARAS Studio, Arch4 Studio, Arkiplan Albania, ARKPRO Studio, Artech Studio, ASARCHITECTS, Atelier 4, Atria Studio, Avatelier, B&L Studio, Commonsense Studio, Dara Architecture, FOCUS Architecture, Frida Dragusha, Inceptio Studio, Matt Architect & Associates, MAX XII Architecture Studio, MetroPOLIS, MIK Architecture, NH_Corestudio, Rebus Studio, SINarchitects, SON Architects, TDA Studio, THARM Architects, UDV Architects, UNO Architects, Vesa Architects, and X-Plan Studio.
Albanian participants also earned several major recognitions. SON Architects won the Grand Prix for Best Materiality with Mosaik of Tirana, while Commonsense Studio received Best Theme Answer for the “Angela Merchel” School. The publication “Albanian Architecture & Design,” by Florian Nepravishta and Fiona Nepravishta, received the Grand Prix for Best Architecture Publication.
