Mann McGowan, in close collaboration with its sister company Pyroguard, has unveiled Pyroglaze Compression (Pyroglaze C) – a next-generation, compressible intumescent glazing seal designed to redefine efficiency and performance in fire-rated glazing systems. The new seal has been Certifire approved under CF 5818 and is now recommended as a key component of Pyroguard’s fire-resistant glass solutions.
Engineered for dry glazing applications, Pyroglaze C offers a clean, fast, and tool-free installation process. Available in both 30-minute and 60-minute fire-rated versions, it can be paired with the Pyroglaze 100ECSA 54x2mm glazing liner for higher performance ratings. Made from durable graphite, the seal resists moisture and humidity, ensuring long-term reliability even in demanding environments such as hospitals, laboratories, and cleanrooms.
One of Pyroglaze C’s standout features is its 50% compression capability, allowing it to perfectly adapt to timber beaded glazing systems. This flexibility ensures a consistent fit, boosts factory productivity, and eliminates curing delays. Installation is simple, the product can be cut to size, applied, and fixed using its self-adhesive backing, requiring no sealant guns or additional tools.
In a fire scenario, the intumescent material expands, completely sealing the glazing rebate to prevent premature ignition of glazing beads on the exposed face. Tested to EN 1634-1 with various EW and EI glass types, Pyroglaze C ensures proven performance and fire integrity compliance.
Offered as part of Pyroguard’s complete certified glazing package or available separately for fabricators and distributors, Pyroglaze C sets a new benchmark for simplicity, compatibility, and reliability in fire-rated glazing systems.
