Guardian Glass has announced the installation of a state-of-the-art sputter coater at its manufacturing facility in 10th of Ramadan City, Egypt. The line, expected to go live in the second quarter of 2026, represents one of the most advanced coating technologies in the region and underscores the company’s long-term commitment to sustainable building materials.
The new coater will feature automated precision control systems, enabling the production of highly consistent and durable coatings with complex multi-layer stacks. It will be capable of applying advanced low-emissivity and solar control coatings across large glass sheets up to jumbo sizes, catering to high-rise façades, modern curtain wall systems, and premium residential projects. The facility will primarily produce Guardian ClimaGuard™ low-E glass, which improves thermal insulation and comfort in homes, and Guardian SunGuard™ solar control glass , designed to minimize heat gain in commercial buildings while maintaining light transmission.
This investment also enhances Guardian’s ability to serve a wide geographical area, strengthening supply chains within Egypt while boosting exports across North Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Europe. The expansion reflects the region’s growing demand for energy-efficient building solutions in line with tightening environmental standards and green building certifications such as LEED and BREEAM.
“This cutting-edge coater is a leap forward for Guardian Glass in Egypt,” said Evgeny Ananyev, General Manager for Africa & Middle East. “It empowers us to provide advanced solutions that combine performance, aesthetics, and sustainability, delivering real value to our customers and helping shape the future of modern architecture.”
