Built entirely at TK’s Erba headquarters, the ovens are designed for precision chemical tempering, where glass undergoes ion exchange in a molten potassium nitrate salt bath to achieve exceptional resistance to impact and bending.
The video illustrates the full cycle: pre-heating chambers that stabilize the glass temperature, immersion in a heavy-duty stainless-steel salt tank with advanced thermal insulation, and the controlled cooling phase that locks in the compressive surface layer.
It also highlights TK’s electromechanical lifting system for smooth glass handling, a fully programmable touchscreen control panel with recipe storage, and reinforced structures that guarantee uniform treatment across large or thin formats.
