Visakhapatnam is set to unveil India’s longest glass skywalk bridge atop the scenic Kailasagiri Hills on September 25, 2025, marking a milestone for the glass industry. Spanning 55 meters and perched 262 meters above sea level, the cantilever bridge is constructed entirely with German-made tempered laminated glass and steel, offering both transparency and structural strength.
The project, developed by the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) with an investment of ₹7 crore, is designed to safely accommodate over 100 visitors at a time, with regulated entry in 40 batches. Its engineering ensures high resistance to wind and stress, showcasing how premium glass solutions are revolutionizing modern architecture and tourism infrastructure in India.
Praised by business tycoon Anand Mahindra as “absolutely stunning,” the bridge exemplifies the growing adoption of advanced glass in large-scale, high-visibility projects, highlighting innovation, safety, and aesthetics in the industry.
